Self care is often something that gets pushed to the side as we try to take care of everyone else. But you can’t take care of anyone if you aren’t taken care of.

You can’t pour from an empty cup.

One thing we tend to forget though, is that self care doesn’t just come from big expensive spa days that have to be planned months ahead of time. Often, the most powerful self care comes from the little things you have intentionally chosen to include in your week.

That is where most of the days in this challenge got their inspiration from. Choosing Joy or Love and lighting up your soul. Intentionally making time to be present in what is happening right … at … this … moment.

You can do this yourself, with a group of friends, or better yet include your whole family.

​We can all use some self care, and kids in particular need to see you living by example (they are always watching & learning from you).
​
Make the commitment to choosing You, to taking care of You, to loving You!

7 day Self care challenge

  • MONDAY - Living Room Concert … Pull up your favorite artist on a streaming service, turn up the volume, sit back & enjoy. Better yet, see if your favorite artist has a concert or live event online.
  • TUESDAY – Connect with Nature … Take a walk, breath in some fresh air, stop and smell the roses, sit by a creek, stand amidst the trees. Aim for 30 minutes, but if life is really chaotic stay for more
  • WEDNESDAY – Clear the Clutter … Clean and clear out all the things in one room that no longer bring you joy. Rather than clutter another room with what you have removed, donate it.
  • THURSDAY – Digital Detox … Limit your screen time today, try not to check social media and emails more than necessary. To start you can even try no tech for just one hour.
  • FRIDAY – Food for the Soul … Make a heathy dinner, try something new or your favorite go to. Be present & enjoy the act of preparing a nourishing meal for your family.
  • SATURDAY – Solo Date … Spend time alone & reconnect with yourself. Grab a coffee and hit a bookstore, mall or park and just wander.
  • SUNDAY – Journal & Relax … Reflect on your week … write 10 things that you are grateful for, a quote to keep you motivated or inspired, and plan your self care for next week.
